Anyone able to run a Websockify server?

Post by Hated Moron »

Websockify acts as a proxy between Web Sockets and regular sockets. The potential value to BBC BASIC is that it could, in principle, allow a program running in the in-browser edition (which can only 'talk' Web Sockets) to communicate via the internet with a program running on a desktop or mobile platform.

But for this to work Websockify would need to be running 24/7 on a server with good availability. I've asked my hosting service whether they would allow me to run it on their server, and the answer was an unequivocal 'no'! :(

So does anybody have a server on which they would be prepared to run Websockify, and make it available to be accessed from BBC BASIC?
