SytaxBomb contest or not?

Post by kigohhere »

Perhaps a new contest will start soon? I am not sure. Will any forum member be interested in participating in this game contest? I am also not sure. After David Williams left this BBC forum, no forum member released any complete game written in BBC BASIC.

There is a huge number of jams held on Itch!

Some jams are big. (SystaxBomb contest is small.) I urge anyone of you to join big game jams if you want better promotions for BBC BASIC. A lot of entrants!

Besides, some special jams may also generate effective promotions, an example,

There was this, admittedly a conversion from RISC OS rather than a brand-new game, and perhaps not quite in the same league as some of David Williams's work, but it shows that there is still some interest.

DW was (is/) one of those rare individuals who combine a high degree of programming ability (even to the extent of writing his own low-level graphics code in assembly language) with fantastic game-design skills, and even highly talented musically. He was able to create games on his own which might otherwise have required a team of designers!

The game is good. We should enourage terryswanb to join those game jams. A good game jam can motivate entrants with good potential to make high-quality games!

He is really experienced in developing excellent games. Maybe he left because you left? If you send an email to invite him to come back, he may come back and make excellent games to help the user community to promote BBCSDL!
