Re: Forum broken!
As a temporary measure I have reinstated the highest level of DDoS protection offered by my hosting provider, which will unavoidably result in these 403 ('Forbidden') and 405 (''Method not allowed') responses returning. Sorry for the inconvenience, but it's one of the few things I can do to mitigate the attacks, given that I have no administrative access to the forum.Richard Russell wrote: ↑Tue 29 Jul 2025, 13:15 all attempts to post or reply result in a 403 or 405 response...
The operations likely to fail are those which involve a POST, i.e. those that upload a form to the server. In practice this is likely to mean posting a new message or a reply to the forum, or editing an existing post. My experience has been that larger posts (perhaps dozens or hundreds of lines) are more likely to be affected than short ones.
Please let me know if the 403 and/or 405 responses prove to be so annoying that your ability to use the forum is seriously impacted.

It looks like this has also broken the automatic forwarding of messages to the Discussion Group, which is unfortunate.Richard Russell wrote: ↑Thu 31 Jul 2025, 21:12 As a temporary measure I have reinstated the highest level of DDoS protection offered by my hosting provider, which will unavoidably result in these 403 ('Forbidden') and 405 (''Method not allowed') responses returning.
